FOOD SERVICE

WELCOME TO THE FOOD SERVICE DEPARTMENT!

Mission Statement

To provide students with a well-balanced, nutritious and reasonably priced meal.

School Breakfast and Lunch

Make the Healthy Choice. Our USDA approved school meals provide one-third of the Recommended Daily Allowances (RDA) of the five basic food groups for children K-12. Under federal regulations known as "Offer vs. Serve", students can opt to take a minimum of three of the four breakfast components OR three of the five lunch components. Breakfast is available at all schools.

Healthy Changes in Our School Cafeterias!

Lake Orion school cafeterias offer a variety of freshly-prepared menu choices that follow the revised federal nutrition standards for school meals. Cycle menus are planned to meet the nutrition needs of children within their calorie requirements and to reduce saturated fats and sodium, while increasing the availability of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains.

We're always working to offer Lake Orion Community Schools students healthier and tastier choices. Our program initiatives include Locally Grown Foods, Healthy New Menus, Chef Partnerships, Student Tastings, Nutrition Education and Fuel up to Play 60.

We look forward to welcoming your children to the cafeteria this fall. To get the facts about school meals visit
