Jim Weidman was first elected in 2001 and is serving his third four-year term on the Board of Education. During his tenure, Jim has served as board president, treasurer, and trustee, and has served on a number of board committees.
Since moving to Lake Orion in 1978, Jim has been active in the community as a volunteer serving on the boards of the American Heart Association, Oakland Mediation Center, and Ronald McDonald House. He also served as Co-Chair of the Orion Township Library Bond Election Committee.
Prior to being elected to the Board, Jim's has been involved in Lake Orion Schools in many capacities, and has been highlighted by serving as citizen representative on two search committees for a new Superintendent of Schools, and Co-Chairing the successful 2000 School Bond Election Committee.
In Jim's work life, he is a former educator and healthcare administrator, who is now a business owner in Oakland County. Jim has also been a high school and college basketball official for thirty years.
Jim and his wife, Cathy, have three daughters who graduated from Lake Orion High School and a fourth daughter currently in high school in Lake Orion Community Schools.
