Recognize Your Principals This Week!
Governor Rick Snyder proclaims February 13-17, 2012 to be Principals' Week. The goal of Michigan School Principals Week is to "raise awareness of the importance of educational leadership, and to recognize and thank all principals working in Michigan school districts for their exemplary service." We encourage you to recognize your local principals for the vital role they play in the success of all students.

Carl Zoolkoski receives Award of Excellence
The Michigan Association of Middle School Educators (MAMSE) has selected Carl Zoolkoski, an Oakview Middle School teacher, for an Award of Excellence as our state Educator of the Year. All of his fine work in promoting the middle school concept of education in the state of Michigan is being recognized and celebrated.
Carl will be honored at MAMSEs Annual Conference in March and will be receiving an Award of Excellence at that time.

Annual Teens for Jeans Campaign
All three of our middle schools are collecting jeans for the Teens for Jeans campaign sponsored by DoSomething.Org and Aeropostale. The jeans collected will be given to Aeropostale at Great Lakes Crossing who will then donate them to the Detroit Rescue Mission for distribution locally to homeless teens. All sizes of clean, gently worn jeans can be dropped off at any of our three middle schools until February 10th.
Congratulations!
