November 20, 7 PM, auditorium. Meeting with sophomore parents to discuss four opportunities or students to earn college credit and/or job/career training while still in high school. The following programs will be discussed:
· Career/Technical Education (CTE) (Automotive Technology, Business Administration, Computer Programming, Engineering, Finance/Accounting, Future Educators, Marketing).
· Oakland Schools Technical Campus (OSTC) (Auto Tech, Collision Repair, Construction, Cosmetology, Culinary Arts/Hospitality, Machining, Mechatronics, Welding, Health Sciences, Computer Networking, Web Development, Entrepreneurship, Agriscience and Environmental Technologies, Visual Imaging).
· Early/Middle College Program: Partnership with Baker College that allows students to earn an Associate’s Degree in Business Management or Computer-Aided Design/Engineering one year after high school—for FREE.
· Advanced Placement Courses: College-level courses in math, science, English, social studies, art, world languages, and computer science. Students may earn college credit if they take and excel on the AP test.
