2016 LOCS Excellence in Transportation Award Winners Named!

This year's “Excellence in Transportation” award winners representing Lake Orion Community Schools are Joseph Kann and Georganne Foster. The prestigious award is given to Oakland County School bus drivers. Both were nominated by their fellow workers for their exemplary service.  Joe has been a special needs driver for three years.  After 30 years working for GM, he enjoys the “relaxing” work of being a school bus driver. Joe has participated in four School Bus Driving Rodeos, one of which was a special needs event.  Georgeanne began her career with LOCS 20 years ago as a bus driver, transferring later to a custodial position. After 16 years as a custodian Georgeann returned to bus driving. Both Joe and Georgeann are model employees and the district is proud to have them driving for Lake Orion’s transportation department.
